From the recording A Humanistic Perspective
Sitting amongst the seemingly endless chaos that is the 21st century, it’s hard to tell when your time will come. On one hand, we’ve made vast medical advancements. Medications that have allowed us to live longer, fuller, and healthier lives. Technologies that have allowed treatments of some of the worst kinds diseases and cancers, now just a doctor’s visit away. And now even equipment that can keep the sickest of people alive for unbelievable amounts of time. But on the other hand, we have never been in an easier time to take a life. One individual can single handedly choose to purchase 23 fire arms, go to a music festival, and end the lives of 59 people wounding hundreds more all in the process of 10 minutes. This isn’t right. Something needs to be done about this. When are we going to understand that enough is enough, and we need to start putting limitations on these things. Improved background checks, limitations on how many firearms a person can legally own at one time, whatever it takes, things need to change. These were mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, grandmothers, grandfathers, all family and friends..
